How To Throw An Axe

Throwing an axe can be a fun activity, but it can also be dangerous if not done properly. Here are some general steps to follow when throwing an axe:

  1. Choose a suitable location: Make sure you have a safe area to throw the axe. Choose a location that is away from other people, pets, and anything that could be damaged by a missed throw.

  2. Prepare the target: Set up a target that is sturdy and can withstand the force of an axe. A wooden target with a bullseye is a common choice.

  3. Hold the axe correctly: Hold the axe at the base of the handle with your dominant hand. Your other hand can either hold the handle as well or be placed on your hip for balance.

  4. Stand at the correct distance: Stand about 10 to 12 feet away from the target, with your feet shoulder-width apart.

  5. Aim for the bullseye: Keep your eyes on the target and aim for the bullseye. Bring the axe back behind your head, then swing it forward in one motion, releasing the axe when your arms are fully extended in front of you.

  6. Follow through: After releasing the axe, follow through with your arm and step forward with your non-dominant foot.

  7. Retrieve the axe: Once the axe has landed, retrieve it from the target by grabbing the base of the handle with both hands.

Remember to always follow proper safety precautions when throwing an axe. Wear closed-toe shoes, avoid throwing near others, and never throw an axe while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
